Brandon Bay has always delivered wind and waves at this time of year, and with beaches facing most directions…..2013 is sure to be no exception!

This year SPILLANES BAR have generously supported the event once again, and will be hosting daily briefings as well as a good night out and some great home cooked food each night! Funnily enough the legendary closing night party and prize giving will be here too…..so book your house as close as you can to the front door!

Jamie Knox has his own special way of predicting the weather, and reckons the dates in question should deliver some classic conditions! Having lived here for over 20 years now running his watersports business and still ripping up the waves…..he should know!

Niall Mellon is another great local sailor who has brought ‘KATHLEEN McCAULIFFE ACCESSORIES’ back to sponsor the ladies fleet with some fine goodies, as well as giving the amateurs a run for their money in the comp!

Niall “I had a great comp last year with some real standout sailors in the amateur fleet, we got some ok conditions then but I know Brandon Bay can deliver something big if we catch it right! Tides look good so fingers crossed…..”

With the success and ease of travel to Ireland in the past few years, STENALINE ferries have kindly offered a discounted rate to all competitors (see travel & accom) to make the journey more affordable! As they become more involved in supporting UK Windsurfing there will also be a travel prize for the top amateur rider! STENALINE are supporting both legs of the journey, and both events so you can expect good prizes in Ireland once you get there…..
